Zephyr Xport

Zephyr Xport is the perfect companion to Zephyr Xstream - the best selling ISDN audio codec in the world.

Using custom DSP modem technology developed by Telos, coupled with exceptional aacPlus coding,  Xport transmits 15kHz audio to your studio's Zephyr Xstream using an ordinary POTS (analog) telephone line!

 Want to hear how great Xport sounds? All you need is:

  • A Zephyr Xstream ISDN Transceiver connected to an ISDN line, and

  • Zephyr Xstream software v2.5.x or later. Press the System button on your Xstream to check your software version. If you need to update, follow the instructions in Section One below. If your Xstream is already running the latest software, skip to Section Two.


Section 1: Update Your Zephyr Xstream

  1. If you need to update to the latest Zephyr Xstream software, visit this page. The update page will open a new browser window; follow the update instructions and close the window to return to this page.

Section 2: Hear The Remarkable Quality of Zephyr Xport Transmitted to your Zephyr Xstream

  1. Press <DIAL> on your Zephyr Xstream.

  2. If needed, enter any required dialing prefix or country code.

  3. Enter the number for the Zephyr Xport Demonstration Line:

    • In North America, dial "1 216 621 1826" using the keypad. 

    • Outside North America, dial "216 621 1826 using the keypad. 

  4. Press <SEL>. Use the <V> key to move the cursor to MODE. 

  5. Press <SEL>. Use the <V> key to move the cursor to MODE and press <SEL>. Use the <^> or <V> key to select "XPORT" for the mode. Press <SEL> to confirm your selection.

  6. Press <DIAL> to dial the Demonstration Line. It will take a few  seconds for modem negotation to occur. After negotiation, you should see the "Lock 1 & 2" lights illuminate over your Xstream's Receive meters. 

  7. Enjoy the demonstration! The complete series of audio samples is a loop of about 10 minutes. 

  8. Don't forget to disconnect - Press <DROP> <DROP> and confirm that the system has returned to Ready Ready status.
