REFERENCE LINKS

To add to your collection of resources, we've compiled a few of the most useful Telecom and ISDN links. If you're a Telos Zephyr or Zephyr Xstream owner, some of these sites can also help you locate others with whom you can connect. If you have a site you feel is an indispensable Telecom reference tool, please send e-mail telos-info@telos-systems.com and we will consider adding them.

General Telecom Information:

  • Goodman's Bookmarks is a clearinghouse for fresh, factual information about what's going on in the worldwide Telecom industry. Also contains links to a variety of helpful Telco and ISDN sites.

  • David Massey's Telephone Tribute is an excellent historical reference on the history of wired communication, with special attention to the rise and fall of the Bell System.

Third-Party Software Vendors:

ISDN Sites:

  • The National ISDN Council has an excellent primer for ISDN novices and pros alike.

  • ISDN Zone is an excellent compilation of US and International ISDN information links, with emphasis on European information.

  • Dan Kegel's ISDN Page is the best collection of ISDN-related pointers to World Wide Web sites and FTP documents on other servers. There is something there for novices and experts alike.

  • Those truly dedicated to ISDN in the US will want to check out the site of the National ISDN User's Forum.

Codec User Sites:

  • Audiobahn lists broadcasters and sound studios with dialup digital audio who have agreed to be listed so you can call them when you need a facility for news feeds, remotes, audio transfers, or other long-distance audio services. Jay Rose's Digital Playroom (a commercial/promo facility in Boston) maintains this list;when you reach his page, scroll about halfway down to find it . At present, the list covers US sites only.

  • Al Rieland at Wisconsin Public Radio maintains the Switched Digital Audio Directory for Public Radio. Lots of listings for the US and Canada. We think this is the oldest continuously published list of its kind.
