Telos ONE Gives Texas Pubcaster the
"All-Clear"
Austin's KOOP praises Telos hybrid for "flawless"
performance

According to Andrew Dickens of Austin, Texas’ KOOP-FM (www.koop.org),
his Telos ONE is the best broadcast telephone hybrid in the world.
KOOP is a community-owned, Public Radio broadcaster in the Texas capitol
that chose the Telos ONE hybrid to maintain high-quality audio during
call-ins from both guests and listeners in remote locations.
The Telos ONE is “the best hybrid that I have ever seen in action,” says
Dickens, who is the President of KOOP’s Board of Directors. And his
opinion is reinforced every day, as the station uses its Telos ONE to
handle calls from every state in the country and every corner of the
globe, fielding terrestrial and satellite phone calls from locations as
diverse as the Middle East and the South Pole.
The Telos ONE “has performed flawlessly in every respect…and has made it
possible for everyone at our station to get compelling guests on the air
via telephone,” says Dickens. Previously, he “struggled with [other
brands’] hybrids to get acceptable quality and isolation on a
call-by-call basis. The Telos One eliminates that hassle.”
Mr. Dickens finds his Telos ONE easy to use as well. “It was really easy
to train everyone how to use the Telos ONE. That helped it get into
heavy use quickly,” he notes.
The Telos ONE hybrid has the distinction of being the most affordable
auto-nulling digital hybrid in the world, with Adaptive Cancellation
technology that eliminates audio bleed and feedback without user
intervention. The Telos ONE has become the standard for air studios and
newsrooms throughout the radio and television industries thanks to its
digital echo elimination, built-in high/low pass filtering and superior
send-audio rejection, all of which results in extremely pure caller
audio for great-sounding call-in shows. There’s even a built-in pitch
shifter to help prevent feedback in open-speaker situations.
Several Telos ONE models are available to suit different broadcast
needs, including a compact portable unit with a switchable mic/line
input and dual outputs for easy interfacing at home or on the road, a
rack mount ONE in a 1 RU chassis for studio installations, and the ONE
Plus ONE, with two complete hybrids in a 1 RU chassis. For
multiple-caller talk shows, there’s also the ONE-x-Six, which features
control of up to six callers at a time. For more information, contact
