Logitek becomes a Livewire Limitless License partner

3 April 2014, Cleveland, OH USA

logitek-logoLogitek Audio is the latest broadcast technology company to license Axia Livewire™ AoIP networking technology.

“Interoperability is the question at the top of every broadcaster’s mind right now,” according to Axia Marketing Manager Clark Novak. “That’s why Livewire is so popular — there’s a huge ecosystem of connected software and hardware from over 70 Axia Partners. That simplicity and ease of integration has made Livewire the number one choice of broadcasters around the world.”

“There are over 55,000 devices in the field connected with Livewire networking,” Novak notes. “Our clients are always raving about easy connection to codecs, audio processors, phone systems, satellite downlinks, workstations, and other Livewire devices. Logitek’s decision to become a Livewire partner demonstrates that interoperability is as important to them as it is to their clients.”

“Logitek has always believed in the power of the connected studio,” says Logitek’s President, Tag Borland. “This agreement means that Logitek consoles will now connect to the universe of devices that use Livewire. The more devices talk to each other, the easier the installation, configuration, and use are — and the happier our customers are!”

Livewire is the broadcast networking standard developed by Axia parent Telos Systems, which utilizes Ethernet to provide an easy way to route and share audio and logic throughout the broadcast plant. Under the Livewire Limitless License (L3), Logitek is licensed to build a Livewire interface into any or all of its products, allowing instant one-cable connection to Axia networks and communication with products from more than 70 other Livewire hardware and software partners. The Livewire Limitless License entitles partners to build Livewire into an unlimited number of devices for a one-time license fee of just $500.

Over 70 Axia partners, including companies such as Nautel, AudioScience, VoxPro, BSI, Telos Systems, Omnia Audio, 25-Seven Systems, RCS Sound Software and WideOrbit offer broadcast hardware and software that connects directly with Livewire networks. More than 5,500 radio studios are equipped with Axia AoIP networks, and over 55,000 Livewire-equipped devices are in daily service.
